Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to send you some cheers as we wrap up our final week and head to the finish line! I hope everyone is writing/revising away, enjoying the progress you've made, and looking forward to celebrating on December 1!

You can do it!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, and Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I need to apologize. I have been out of town and completely missed the deadline for our second-to-last check-in!!! I'm guessing since none of you told me, perhaps you missed it too????

Anyway, I am very very sorry.

How are you all doing???? I was on a roll until this week, when I was in Vegas for the NCTE/ALAN conference. Now I am behind by about 2,500 words. I'm hoping to make up for it next week!

I hope you'll check in below and we can all cheer each other on during this final stretch to our December 1 deadline.

WE CAN DO IT!!!!!

Official One Month To Go Check in! :-)

Hi Friends!

I'm home from a wonderful weekend in St. Louis where I spoke at the YALSA YA Lit Symposium. Hundreds of dedicated librarians were there, sharing tips and techniques for connecting readers with books. It was incredibly moving and inspiring to see these dedicated, caring professionals encouraging one another and celebrating teen readers. Someday, these amazing people will be putting your books in the hands of their readers!

On that note, I hope you're making lots of progress on your WIPS! Time to let me know and check in!

NOTE: I am so sorry. I originally posted this on my blog rather than here this morning. Blame it on massive sleep deprivation! Please check in here! I will let those who checked in elsewhere know I screwed up. SORRY!!!!!

Happy November!

Hi Everyone!

Wow, that last check-in was sooooo inspiring. I love how everyone came in to comment and cheer each other on. THANK YOU!!!! And for those of you who checked in a little late and didn't get as many cheers, please know we love you and are excited for you, too! It's just hard to remember to come back and keep checking to see if there are new comments. :)

On that note, a reminder that our next check-in is November 5! Check-in that day and celebrate with everyone! Only one more month to reach our goals! WOOHOO!!!!!!

I hope those of you in the path of Sandy are safe and sound.

Love,

Jo

Hello?!?!?!? :-)

Hi all!

Just a reminder that our first official check-in is in 5 days! October15!

I was sidetracked the last few days because copy edits arrived and I had to stop everything to deal with those. I both love and hate this stage of the process, as it is both exciting to be so close to publication, and also scary to be making final changes and praying I didn't miss anything. I'll be finishing up today and saying good-bye and good-luck. After this, the manuscript is truly out of my hands. :-)

I hope you're all getting lots of writing time and making tons of progress on your goals!

Love,

Jo

Milestones

Hello, everyone!

How are you all doing with your goals so far?

I wanted to post tonight to tell you all that I have just reached 10,000 words in this first draft! I am very, very excited, and am celebrating with candy. :)

Honestly, what got me through some days is something Jo posted over the summer.

Here: http://jbknowles.livejournal.com/461572.html

I love this post so, so much. I printed out the picture of what Jo's niece drew on the driveway and taped it to the wall right in front of my desk, and whenever I find myself growing tired or getting discouraged, I look up at it. It makes me smile. It makes me say to myself, "You CAN do this. Stop being afraid and just WRITE."

And that is just what I do.

Sometimes I think it is important for us to stop worrying about things and just write and celebrate the little milestones we reach along the way.

What milestones have you all reached?

Checking in :-)

Hi all!

Boy, you've been quiet. I hope this is because you are all busy writing! But remember, you are welcome and encouraged to make posts here and share any useful information you'd like, or to ask for help/support.

Today on my regular blog, I've shared a revision technique I use that might be helpful to those of you working on revisions:

"My favorite revision tool: Storyboarding" (with photos!) http://jbknowles.livejournal.com/465934.html

Hope it's helpful! And hope you'll share some techniques that work for you!

Love,
Jo
